COVID-19 Host Genetics Initiative

Our researchers are launching the "COVID-19 host genetics initiative" - a community effort to identify genetic variants associated with COVID-19 susceptibility and severity.

The mission of this new initiative is to aggregate genetic information about patients infected by COVID-19 to fuel scientific discovery. FIMM will genotype samples for free and make the results immediately available to the scientific community.

We are already collecting samples from Northern Italy, California and Finland. Join our effort to collect more samples. We can provide a short questionnaire to collect basic clinical information. We will harmonize genetic and clinical data and bring it back to the community.

How does it work?

1) You send us consented DNA samples together with some basic clinical information

2) We genotype the sample for free (GSA global screening array)

3) Every 1000 samples, we will run whole-genome and HLA-specific imputations and make the genetic and curated clinical data available to the scientific community
